Gloria E. Rubio Verduzco - Owner & Designer
I've been excited by beads and jewelry making since I was a little girl, but I discovered French beaded flowers in 2005, and I was immediately in love! I always loved wearing flowers in my hair, so I began creating beaded flowers to wear to dance classes and special events. Immediately, I began receiving requests from friends and family to make items for them...and so began MorninGloria's.
My inspiration for my works come from the colors of nature and flora, the decadent Victorian era, and vintage-inspired romance. I hope that anybody can feel beautiful wearing my pieces, and feel confident you're receiving quality, handmade items. They make great gifts as they are so unique and unlike anything you'll find, and will last through time!
History of French Beaded Flowers
It is estimated that the art of beaded flowers was practiced across Europe and England as early as the 1500's. In an effort to support themselves, French and Italian peasants used to collect defective or discarded beads, strung them on wire, and shaped to flowers designs. The finished flowers were used in bouquets, alter displays, and memorial wreaths. Because of the work and skill involved in creating these beautiful works of art, beaded flowers have always been collectible and timeless treasures. Many antique flowers can be found in museums, as well as many private collections, all over the world. A few notable people who owned and treasured examples of this fine art were Marie Antoinette, Madam Pompadour, Napoleon's Josephine, Princess Grace, Princess Caroline, Patricia Nixon, and William Randolph Hearst.
